Department of Health Bob Stahl |
Stahl was honored by the South Dakota Health Care Association with the 2007 Legend Award. This award is a testament to the long term efforts of Stahl and his staff to work collaboratively with the industry in the pursuit of the highest quality of care for South Dakota's elderly and disabled residents. |

Department of Health Carrie Churchill |
Churchill recently received a Wind Beneath Our Wings Outstanding Performance Award from the Rapid City Chamber of Commerce Health and Human Services Committee. |

Bureau of Administration Jeff Holden |
Holden received a President's Award for outstanding service to the National Association of State Procurement Officials. The award is given for efforts in coordinating cooperative purchasing efforts among member states of NASPO during the past year. |

Department of Corrections Kristi Bunkers |
Bunkers was named the Outstanding SDCA Member for 2007 by the South Dakota Corrections Association for her work in juvenile corrections. |

Department of Corrections Doug Weber |
Weber received the Satnan-Canary Award from the South Dakota Corrections Association. The award is the most prestigious honor granted by the SDCA and is given to someone who has made a worthy contribution to the corrections field in South Dakota. |

In partnership with National Geographic Traveler, the Travel Industry Association of America (TIA) has selected 10 travel industry organizations, one in which is the South Dakota Office of Tourism, to receive a 2007 Odyssey Award. This award is a premier travel recognition program for the visitor industry. |

Forrest was selected by the South Dakota Emergency Management Association as their Member of the Year. |

Department of Public Safety Tina Titze |
Titze, an emergency management employee, was selected to represent South Dakota at the 2008 European Visitors Program (EUVP). The EUVP invites young, promising leaders from countries outside the European Union to visit Europe and experience and understand their goals, policies, and citizens, as well as their non-EU counterparts. Only 170 people are selected in the world, in which only 20 are from the United States. |

The Youth Challenge Center program at STAR Academy was awarded the inaugural Barbara Allen-Hagen Corrections Facility Award from the Performance based Standards (PbS) project. The award was given to STAR Academy based on its focus on safety issues and integration of PbS into daily management operations. |
